Red blood cells are fundamental for maintaining normal bodily functions, and a person's hematocrit levels can provide an important indicator of their overall health. For most adults, the safe range is between 38.8-50% for men or 34.9%-44.5% in women; however these numbers may differ depending on individual factors like age, gender identity and medical history among others.  A hematocrit level outside the normal range can be an indicator of a potential, underlying health issue.
